The General Data Protection Regulations Act (GDPR) is a data privacy and security law introduced by the European Union (EU) on 25th May 2018. It is considered to be the toughest privacy and security law in the world and affects anyone who collects, stores or processes data about anyone in the EU. Even though the United Kingdom left the European Union in 2020, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 follows all the principles of the GDPR.
